Back to Gardening
Hello world! It's been a long time, and I'm happy to write that I'm gardening again. :)
So many things had happened since the last post, when I wrote that we decided not to renew our public garden spot in 2024. Good and wonderful things, and some less comfortable. The amazing event was that in July 2024 be bought a house that we named Belle Étoile. The house has two gardens, one in front of the house, and one behind the house. Behind the house, there are raised beds for gardening and I was super excited about growing vegetables. There are also massive bushes of Hortensias, to the happines of Bibou Chat who loves them. There are also two massive roses that make a beautiful door to the garden. The front garden is Mediteranian style, a lot of stones, and flowers.
Then some less comfortable events happened. A hard family situation started in September that had a huge hit to my mental health, and in March I got some health problems with hand and shoulders and it took me until November to find that it's bursitis. I did start planting vegetables in spring 2025, but with the state of my health, Tdidn't feel like writing about my gardening adventures - they felt like in the shade of harder parts of my life. I planted zucchinis (of course), tomatoes, cherry tomatoes. Zucchinis went good, cherry tomatoes also, but there were no normal tomatoes. So I did some work, but like I said, with the life happening, gardening just didn't manage to spark too much light into my life. And that's ok.
2026 brings healing into my life. I'm doing actions to heal physical and mental health, and I feel more hopeful about life, and more active. Being less in pain is such a relief. Deep inside myself, I felt I'm ready to garden again - gardening started sparking joy again. :) I decided to start again slow and basic - I decided to plant a vegetable garden again, but I also started working with flowers and other plants in the garden. You see, warious plants are growing in our gardens, and I'm identifying them, picking them from the ground and planting them in the pots or other parts of the garden. I never had an interest into flowers or decorative plants, but now I started enjoying them. Bibou Chat told me today that I look like gardening for pleasure, and not for obligation. That resonates deep with me. Gardening makes me feel calm, slower, and more connected to the world, and to myself.
Anyway, I'm continuing bloging about gardening in 2026. Looking forward to all upcoming adventures ! :)
