Hello world ! I hope you are doing well ! Here, things are growing ! The yellow zucchinis are growing like crazy! Green ones also, but little less. We ate them and they were delicious ! I'm enjoying gardening, and here there is a big drought so it's important that I'm watering the plants every evening. It's my little routine, after work, after putting everybody to sleep, go out and water.
We even found a hedgehog who always comes out and make noise in the night. I'm happy to have an inhabitant in the garden. Salads grow less than expected, and cherry tomatoes survived and started to give fruits. :)
I took some photos during the last post, but I didn't managed to sit down and upload everything and write. And now my old laptop's charger is broken, so I don't use a lot of PC, but I'm happy to be able to find time and write about gardening. So, all zucchinis survived - two green and two yellow plants. Growing like crazy and were giving good fruit. With the hot weather, they stopped a little, but still keep growing. 6 cherry tomato plants also survived and they started giving fruits. Salads, out of 10, 4 grew, two are in a size to be eaten, one died, and 5 are just small. With the heat, they are struggling. Hortensias are struggling with the heat...
I planted two types of pumpkins, one died, and one survived, but with this heat, everything is struggling... Even grass...
We are leaving on vacations, and I hope neighbors will remember to water the plants, so when I return, there will still be some plants...

Two or three years ago I finally realized what's my favorite flower. It's lavander. So when we bought our house Belle Étoile, I said I'll plant one lavander plant each year we wile in the house. In that way I will plant at least one flower per year, and it's going to be nice celebration of us living in our beautiful home. Well, the second bday is coming in July, and I planted our second lavander. The first one survived the winter, and it's growing good. I'm planting lavanders next to the driveway, so in that way I always see them when I come home from work. And of course, when I smell them, it makes me feel calm and peaceful.
After lavander, I planted another flower that Bibou Chat bought last year, but never planted and left in a small pot. It survived, and was putting new leaves out, so I planted it in the ground. Grow baby, grow! It's called Aster and it should make beautiful purple flowers.
I love looking for plants naturally growing in the garden. I saw a small colony of a plant called Cobweb hens and chicks, and I replanted it into a shell of Saint Jacques. I don't know will it like it there, but it sure looks nice.
23rd March 2026
Bibou Chat wanted to plant some flowers to the front garden so in the garden shop we bought Rose trémière, a flower she loves. I planted two flowers, one on each side of the yard doors. I'm looking forward to see how they look when they grow.
Back to Gardening
Hello world! It's been a long time, and I'm happy to write that I'm gardening again. :)
So many things had happened since the last post, when I wrote that we decided not to renew our public garden spot in 2024. Good and wonderful things, and some less comfortable. The amazing event was that in July 2024 be bought a house that we named Belle Étoile. The house has two gardens, one in front of the house, and one behind the house. Behind the house, there are raised beds for gardening and I was super excited about growing vegetables. There are also massive bushes of Hortensias, to the happines of Bibou Chat who loves them. There are also two massive roses that make a beautiful door to the garden. The front garden is Mediteranian style, a lot of stones, and flowers.
Then some less comfortable events happened. A hard family situation started in September that had a huge hit to my mental health, and in March I got some health problems with hand and shoulders and it took me until November to find that it's bursitis. I did start planting vegetables in spring 2025, but with the state of my health, Tdidn't feel like writing about my gardening adventures - they felt like in the shade of harder parts of my life. I planted zucchinis (of course), tomatoes, cherry tomatoes. Zucchinis went good, cherry tomatoes also, but there were no normal tomatoes. So I did some work, but like I said, with the life happening, gardening just didn't manage to spark too much light into my life. And that's ok.
2026 brings healing into my life. I'm doing actions to heal physical and mental health, and I feel more hopeful about life, and more active. Being less in pain is such a relief. Deep inside myself, I felt I'm ready to garden again - gardening started sparking joy again. :) I decided to start again slow and basic - I decided to plant a vegetable garden again, but I also started working with flowers and other plants in the garden. You see, warious plants are growing in our gardens, and I'm identifying them, picking them from the ground and planting them in the pots or other parts of the garden. I never had an interest into flowers or decorative plants, but now I started enjoying them. Bibou Chat told me today that I look like gardening for pleasure, and not for obligation. That resonates deep with me. Gardening makes me feel calm, slower, and more connected to the world, and to myself.
Anyway, I'm continuing bloging about gardening in 2026. Looking forward to all upcoming adventures ! :)
